Weezer - Weezer
Back with long time producer Rick Rubin Weezer tries to capture the magic that was previously captured on their best albums (Pinkerton, The Green Album etc.). But they fall short. They have their moments when they truly sound good (ex. Pork And Beans) but their are other times when it just sounds like one big car crash (ex. Automatic). One big problem for me is that the drums seem to over power the vocalist. Which in my opinion is never a good thing.
Rating: Lyrics: 27/40 (Wish I could hear more of the lyrics rather than reading them)
Tunefulness: 24/50 (Rick Rubin has never been a favorite. I have enjoyed some of his albums like Maroon 5. But this album just seems bad)
Originality: 2/10 (You will not be in aw. Same old, same old)
Overall: 53/100 (It's a mixed bag. Their worst album)
